  1. This year Nike and UNHCR teamed up to make athletic wear for hijabis in three refugee camps in northern Kenya. Nike taught locals how to copy the design and sew it themselves and now more women in the area are playing sports!

    nike does not have a problem with this? did they build a factory there? or are they giving permission to counterfeit?

  3. Yes, it’s not a garment they plan on producing or marketing. It was part of an initiative to empower Somali women who enjoy playing volleyball and were restricted by their hijabs slipping off.   5. It is realli nice to see women who are involved in sports.- esp. muslim women because it breaks all the streotypes of us being opressed. My God, could ppl just try to do a bit more research..if so racism and ignorance would not have existed in this life..
