Pervez Musharraf, Daily Show, Osama? Wha?!

So, how exactly does the current President of Pakistan fit into the Daily Show with Jon Stewart? We have no idea.
Mushy’s memoir, “In the line of fire” has landed him face time on cbs, pbs…and last night the daily show.
Stewart welcomed Musharraf with some tea (not the milk chai) and a hostess twinkie. After getting settled Stewart fired, ‘Where’s Osama bin Laden?’
Maybe Jon Stewart went a little easy on him because this is the first time a sitting head of state has actually appeared on the show? The best part, though, was when Stewart asks Mushy on the “Seat of Heat,”
“George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden — be truthful — who would win a popular vote in Pakistan?”
Musharraf after a good 15-30 seconds, says
“I think they’ll both lose miserably,” replied Musharraf,
We were suprisingly entertained.
But, how does Mushy fit in with the Daily Show? We still have no idea.

definitely an entertaining show.
i heart jon stewart.
It seems the General either broke his iftarri with haraam twinkie treats and chai or didn’t fast at all.
ameen, you fart, the show is taped in the evening. don’t hate on mushy.
actually, i went to the taping last week (to support my future husband and all), and it’s all wrapped up by 6:30.
**Mushi is a traveller… he doesn’t have to fast.
On a seperate note… doesn’t the book tour come after you’re is out of office…. and don’t you write memoir’s of your nation’s politics when you’re close to your deathbed…?
Did anyone notice that mushy is drinking CHAI and talking about WAR?
Make chai, not war!
I missed it!!! I like both men, so I think they fit nicely together
i didnt watch it. but here’s my comment.
Well to be fair to ‘mushy’, he came off better than Ash.
Not sure if that’s saying much
Didn’t the Clintons dog and cat write their memoirs while still in offense and still hale and hearty?
i really enjoyed the segment. newworldman…i honestly have no idea what your last comment meant
I’m just saying that it’s not unprecedented for an someone in office (or an occupant of said office or the pets of someone still in office… you get what I mean) to have published their memoirs while currently holding office.
There were several firsts: first sitting head of state on Jon Stewart, probably first high profile pakistani with rapid fire responses, first sitting prez to pen a book, think of more
Mush did a good job. WAY better than he did at the Pehla Qadm dinner on Sunday night. That was a disaster. I’m not sure what he’s trying to do with this PR tour in the states…rallying the US moderates to not hate Pakistan? What?
He definitely spoke for too long on Sunday night, but I didn’t think it was a disaster (maybe the food was though!). I think he spoke pretty well and he was funny too – which is a huge relief after last year’s debacle. A few of my colleagues from work attended as well and were impressed by all the topics he covered.
the show aired on sep 26, however it was recorded a week earlier on sep 19, which would be pre-ramadan regardless of tribe you followed wrt to moon sighting
unless you’re bohri of course
was entertaining, better than the book.
MUSHARRAF IS A GOOD SERVANT FOR USA. HE WILL WIN CONDO LIZA RICE IF PRESENTED FOR “DOG” RACE.
MUSHI IS GOING OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKAY. BUSH AND HIS DOGS ARE HAPPY WITH HIS LICKING
